The folk art slave girl on the bottom is the work of Krista of Painted Heart Designs. I just love it! My kids do too - several times I caught Abbie when younger taking the veggies off her lap and grabbing ahold of the doll to dance with! When I first got her, Abbie was about 3 years old and loved to sit on her lap. Jacob would rather pull her off the chair and steal the chair away to rock in. LOL You can check out Krista's blog to see more of her AWESOME work:

Love those hearts Stacy! That is such a cute story about your kids with the doll!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a wonderful collection. gfreat story too. I must go check out Krista's space now. o did your children name the girl in the last photo? Come now, she must have a name!
ReplyDeleteThey just say she's the ugly doll . . . but I certainly don't think so . . I think she's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI do have another funny regarding that doll. After I had first moved in, a friend of Mike's stopped over. I had the doll in the rocking chair setting off to the side of our front door. He turned around and and jumped like you wouldn't believe. LOL. Big guy who's not afraid of anything. Scared the heck out of him! LOL! It was hilarious.
